i bought a pacesetter catback today and came home to pull out my old exhaust and put this one on...WRONG i didnt think the 3 bolts on my cat were going to be this rusty. i cant move them at all and i dont want to snap them. somebody said take it to my mechanic and have him take the torch to it to get the bolts out. anybody have any ideas out there
Try soaking it with liquid wrench and letting it sit overnight.
Depends, how much rust are we talking about?
If their really rusty, take a hack saw or die grinder,i would recommend the die grinder.. less work and it get's it done faster.
PD blaster them overnight....if you break them....just drill them out.
Do you have access to an air impact wrench? If so, do the liquid wrench overnight and then hit it with an air impact and hopefully she'll come out.
well out of everything stated here the only thing i have is a grinder. but as for the rusty part their pretty damn rusty i tryed to crack one of them lose and the bolt just kind of crunched and stripped out with one good push on the wrench. i think i'm just going to take it to my mechanix and have him pull the old exhaust out then do the rest myself since i like getting my hands dirty.
all they are is a nut and bolt....cut or grind them off and buy 3 new nuts and bolts...its very easy!

its just a nut and bolt? i thought they were threaded all the way through
How gives a @!#$, cut or drill them out, get fresh set of nuts and bolts and ur good to go!
I used a oxy-acedline(sp) torch and a socket and the came right off(you have to heat the nuts till the are red hot).
