So it's time I buy some mounts for my Eco swap...
Now that the ttr and lzm mount has been out for a while I feel there may be a better range of comments in regards to the mounts. I'm personally leaning towards the rk sport upper mount as I've had a ttr and wasn't overly impressed with the finish. I know lzm is hard to get ahold of but he is local so I'm sure Incan pick one up.
I don't care about vibrations or any of that. Just what's going to make the engine move less and last longer then a week..
LZM - a lot of people haven't gotten their mounts, and he is extremely difficult to get in touch with now. I have it, and its ok, but my two main complaints are that it exposes parts of the frame rail that are normally covered (these spots usually have some surface rust and look ugly) and some people have reported that his mount bends. he redesigned it, but I'm not sure how many of the old designs exist.
me personally, I had the holes in the top plate of his design get ovalled out with the rubber bushings installed. I switched to his solid bushings, and haven't checked since, although I think its coming out of my daily driver 04 very soon. With the rubber bushings, it seemed that the engine could still move pretty freely.
My personal favorite is the RK sport mount. Its simple and its rugged. When I had it installed the engine barely moved at all, and it has poly inserts so its not 100% solid. (With LZM the only way to make it last is to have the solid bushings in right off the bat) The only downside to the RKSport upper mount is it only comes in one color.
Powder coat issues were happening in the past, we have since fixed the issue. ALL parts are media blasted and go through a 5 stage wash system. You wont have any issues and if you did we would take care of them.

Yah...as much as the lzm is an interesting design i have heard of the issues and am somewhat concerned. He is local so I could just go to his shop and pick one up..so thats not an issue.
As for the ttr ive seen pics from BuiltNBoosteds how it was falling apart and rubbing metal on metal.
As for the RK I can always paint it and am leaning towards that mount. Where is the best place to go for it? I seen TTR has it on for like 150 and Rk is cheaper by a fair amount.
the lzm upper with the aluminum 'bushings' is one solid biotch let me tell you what. i bolted mine in and the engine wouldnt even move at all. not even with the cherry picker pulling at it with force would it budge.
All I want... is a little of the good life
got mine used from some body here and it was already bent some. hasnt effected anything as far as i can tell though being that way. its nice and solid, i noticed a difference between it and my rk sport insert in the stock mount for sure.
i have a TTR upper mount in the car for over a year with no issues..... love it

Aaron....whats been redesigned about it? When i got my last TTR mount it was just after they came out.
I had the first gen LZM mount with the rubber bushings..And had issue with bending top plate and the bushings shot...We replaced it with the new mount thicker top plate and urethane bushings...And what a diff no bending or issues with the new bushings...
And as far as where there is some rust issues on the frame which you can see with the LZM mount,I just sanded it down and repainted it,All good now..
My only other pick would be the RKSport mount...I had it also no issues and was a great mount..As long as you like red..

The upper support is designed to now sit away from the bushing about 1/8" (different upper support and cut out, along with a thicker washer/spacer.
Powder coating process improved, everything is media blasted prior to the new 5 stage wash system, and out gassed. These have been out for 5 years, and we are always improving.

Too bad no one can get these new bushings or thicker top plate.. LZM >>>> FTL
I have the TTR upper mount, and I love it... 2+ years now. I pressure wash my engine bay all the time, scrub it and detail it... no issue with the coating or the mount at all.

nice valve cover..
this quote coming from this guy = truth he is anal about his engine bay, and spends more time on it then most do on their whole car.

They now have an ebay store which a couple local people have had good luck with. They come with red polyurethane bushings and the top plate looks beefy. They are goin for like $145 plus shipping.
If the new ones hold up they are the best looking mount out of the group by far. But my TTR mount serves its purpose quite well too and I have no complaints.
