possibly throttle cable tensioner?
Saturday, May 01, 2010 12:56 PM
So driving home the other day I noticed my gas pedal was kind of "sticking"... I don't have cruise, but it would maintain speed in 5th for quite a while... it feels fine in lower gears, I was thinking the throttle cable tensioner next to the throttle body could be getting caught before it could put full tension on the line...

Anyone got any other ideas?

Will... easy test... pull your car out of gear without stepping on the clutch, and see where it revs down to... if its like 1500 RPM or below, you aren't reving any higher than you should per throttle...

i'm having a similar problem, its tune related... when my car feels like it it'll rev and hold 3000 RPM out of gear, and will influence throttle in gear ... it will continue to do all this until the car reaches a speed of 5 MPH in which it will immediately drop to idle...

another thing you can check/replace is your IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve located at the top center (and i think rear) of your throttle body....

well considering i dont have a tach i cant tell my rpm... i can just guesstimate... i was thinking about my IAC and replacing it when i had the fuel issue i was dealing with... might still do it...
