is this possible?

Sorry in advanced if this is in the wrong forum.

S ive been looking to do an engine swap for a little while now and just havent done one yet cuz i cant make up my mind on what engine to swap to. Well my buddy was doin some reserch for me to find out what engines will fit in my 2000 cavalier and he told me today that on a forum(didnt remeber where)he found that someone said that the 3400 v6 out of the pontiac grand ams is a direct bolt in to my car because they are both a 60 degree angle engines. Is this true? I know i would also have to get the tranny, wiring harness, ecu, etc. but i would think that if this was true then alot more people would be doin it. Let me know what you think about this and if its true or not. And please dont give me an answer such as "technically you can put any engine in any car". And if you know of any other engines that will fit besides the 2.2 eco and the 2.4 please also let me know that. Thanks

it's not specifically gradams. any gm 60* v6 will fit. this includes those out of malibus, monte carlos, impalas, ventures, trans sports, luminas, grand prix, etc. anything that gm made that had a 3xxx series v6 will work.

The reason not many do the swap is because transaxle V6's blow to work on after they're in.

im considering the same v6 swap. (tired of fixing my quad4) So my question... if u find a grand am that has a good engine/tranny... are the axles the right length or will the axles from the cav work?

Your guess is as good as mine. But ill tell ya one thing right now is DO NOT get a 3100 engine. Ive looked a two of them so far and both ppl said oh it just has a blown head gasket....well then i get there and ask them to make sure it will start and neither one of the engines would budge. I even connected the selenoids with a screwdriver and the engines wont even attempt to turn over because everyone thinks its ok to drive them with a bad head gasket and then water gets in the engine and locks it up. Just go with a 3400 or 3500 if your gonna do a v6 swap

Yeah, you're an idiot. The 3400 has more room in my car than the Grand Am that it came in. Thanks for not helping the OP with useless (wrong) information in this thread tho.

I thought the 3800 was a 90*.
