Hey guys and gals. Newbie here. I recently started to have some problems with my Z24. The first thing a noticed about a week ago is was starting to hesitate slightly under acceleration. I drove it aprox 70 miles. Later that night the hesitation got worse and the Trac off light came on. The next day I took it to a service station to of the trany fluid checked. Everything was full, fluid was a little dark ( car has 235k on it). So the next day or so I continue to drive it with the same symptoms and finally got a check engine light to come on. I hooked up my scanner and got a p0122 which is the TPS. I drove down to the local auto parts and picked up a new TPS for $30. I installed it as per instructed in my Haynes service manual. This did not fix the problem. I have noticed that if the Trac off light is off and I am in park, i can deck the throttle and the rpm's will go straight to the limiter (4000 rpm). If the trac off light is on and I try to deck the throttle the motor just bogs down and trys to die. If I ease into the throttle while the trac off light is on it will go to the limiter. In driving conditions it is the exact opposite. If the trac off light is off it runs like crud. once the light comes on it runs ok motor wise, it just shifts real hard and @!#$s to fast. Any insite on this. I was thinking maybe I had a wheel speed sensor going out since the traction control is monitored at the sensor. Is there anyway to test the sensor before i go out and buy new ones. I figured out that I can put 4 new sensors for $260.
