I didnt do anything. I honestly didnt even know about the 2.3 mani pcv issue untill the head was on my car for several thousand miles. not sure what the affects are.
You should drill and tap the Air Oil separator (black plastic baffle under the intake manifold) with a hose barb fitting, and connect it to the intake manifold to draw out crank case pressure.
Do you have a picture of where you tapped it? Does it matter where?
This picture is from the "How To: LD9/Ecotec Boosted PCV System" thread that Boosted2point4 posted. Right accross from the hole in the block is where you tap the Air Oil sparator.
That makes perfect sense on you look at it. You can see where the hole in the head goes down to the seperator.
But remember, on the 086 head, when you match it to the LD9 headgasket, DON'T drill that PCV hole in the head. It goes directly into a coolant passage in the head.
That's why you're to do it this way.
