I got a 2002 2.2l ecotec cavalier. i got all the basic bolt on installed; headers, high flow converter, flowmaster muffler, cold air intake...well im getting ready to install comp stage 1 cams and ive been told i will need to upgrade my injectors what would be a good size to go with? thank you.
LSJ, btw i hope you are upgrading your valve springs too. Stockers will bind.
well if the lsj injectors will fit were can i buy them from?
Check CobaltSS.net ... lots of people upgrade, Im sure you can get a used set... and yes you can use them.
Like Tinks said, look into upgrading your valvesprings..
Also just fyi: the injectors alone (as well as the cams) will need a tune to run properly.
just be warned... CSS is ran very poorly and it can take up to 6 minutes to load a page

This is very true.... and that's IF you get it to load at all, haha.
you know if the admin would disable thread views, that would go a long way in to speeding up the site...
but on topic... i got me a set of LSJs there local for like 50 bucks...
you'll need tune before the first fire up or you will foul out plugs
now will i need the wiring harness with the injectors
hey so...if you cant start the car... without a tune.. im doing a build. how will i know if everthing is working if i dont start it first....
Um tune before starting it up. All you absolutely need to do before starting it is change the injector constant. Once its running its tuning time.
And I didnt think you needed a harness for ss injectors. I know you need one for any of the larger aftermarket ss injectors.

Nope, LSJs are plug and play(except for the tune)

We never said that you cant start it. I drove my car untuned with the LSJ injectors to the dealer to get reflashed. The car will run, but it will dump fuel and perform like crap until you get it tuned.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa

You need ev1 fuel injector connectors, found on nearly every ford. I yanked mine from an escort and then wired up my own harness, only took like 20 minutes after the soldering iron heated up. Oh and heat shrink the connections.

so buy ev1 do and go look for ev1 one connectors? then just slipe the wires on my injector harness?
cuz for 25 dollars i can have the harness as well.... shouldnt i just buy that and not worry about cuttng and soldering?
Youre still going to have to cut and solder. They just give you the pigtails.
And at most junk yards connectors like that are either free or 1 dollar a piece.

im confused. maybe pics would help me to understand
The LSJ harness wont fit your car, you'll need to cut and splice connectors anyways.

YOU NEED THE CLIP PARTS THAT HOOK THE INJECTOR TO THE HARNESS. J-BODY ONES ARE DIFFERENT.
ok so someone plz go over everything step by step so i can have 42# lsj injectors!!?? lol
Ok, remove stock fuel rail
remove stock injector harness from car and bring in house
warm up soldering iron
cut connectors off 1 at a time and pair the common wire together with the common wire from the junk yard connectors that actually fit the injectors. common wire is the wire of the same color at all injectors share. make sure to tin the wires make sure to put the shrink wrap on before you soldier them together
put all that @!#$ back on the car, but use the new injectors.

so i need the injectors to be flow matched?
