Ok orginally my z24 had a 2.3liter In it. and it blew and i dont have alot of money and they sell 2.4L quad motors at the junkyard complete for 450$... I was wondering If it will bolt right up to the tranny and just plug and play? hopefully. or does it involve more stuff like computer needs to be changed and crap..? if someone could please let me know I would appreciate it! Im just hoping to buy a 2.4l quad and drop it right in and plug everything back up.. and put oil/radiator fluid in it then start her up. let me know thanks.
im not sure about the trans but i think it will bolt up... as for the ECM, your 95 is OBD1 and the 96 + LD9 motor is OBD2, so you will need to swap that over... if you get a 00+ motor you'll need the correct BCM as well.
and for all of this, you will be losing a little bit of horsepower. The LG0 made more power than the LD9

What does the computer have to do with anything? The reluctor would be the only questionable part related to the electronics, but I'm 99.9% sure the offset sync notch is the same degree as the LD9 due to the fact that people used to switch to chipped 95' PCMs to overcome the cam sync problem with swapping HO and W41 cams into LD9's (before HPTuners).
The 2.4L has the same bolt pattern for the trans as the 2.3L. The engine is pretty much plug-n-play. If you get a 96-98' LD9 though, you will need to block off the EGR due to the Quad4 never having one.
I have no signiture
what a waste of a 95 z ..so sad

^^Off topic, but I've had 2 95 Zs and v6 swapped both lol.
Thanks for the info so pretty much bolt int he 2.4l and im good to go.. yes ive heard the 2.3L is better but, what can you do when you dont have much money and need transportation.
If anything I could use the 2.3L for parts i guess now, is there anything I could use performance wise to put onto the 2.4L like example the TB? let me know thanks.
Get a junk yard 2.3. Last one I pulled was $175. If I had been looking for a decent condition one I could have found a couple in the yard. all the same price.
show them all and bolt in a 2.2 ohv. ha!
good luck with the motor swap.
