so my 2.2 in my 97 cavalier is almost dead, im moving up to a 2.4. im going to replace the clutch, will i need to replace the transmission and any of the drivetrain?
well.. the 2.2 bellhousing on the trans has a different bolt pattern so you will need the 2.4 specific trans.
and congrats on making the decision to move up to the LD9. you wont be disappointed.
Trailer Queen corvette wanna-be with 40 coats of wax and powdercoating that soaks in.
ok, ill begin hunting down a 2.4 tranny. any other useful performance things i can do easier since ill already be swapping out the engine and trans? short shifter maybe? dont know if that would be easier. this is my first engine swap
get the 00+ 5 speed tranny... you'll have to do the mount swap, but the getrag is a way better trans
you're going to need the engine (with all accessories), trans, trans mounts and shift linkage (if swapping from 95-99 trans to 00+), engine mounts, computer(s), engine bay wiring harness, and some other misc. goodies.
