Man we get about as much love as Dick Chaney does walking down hooker alley with a $100 bill sticking out of his zipper while holding a sign that says "good fortune have a tug."
Like Rodney Dangerfield use to say " what does it take for a guy to get a little respect around here"
Get a list going with 10 members with $500 ready... We will make it happen.
So let's see if we can get a list going of 10 J-body members that are ready and willing to get LN2/2200 Intake manifolds made for $500

Lets prove that the demand is there for once and for all. If I am wrong and the demand is not there I will shut my mouth and stop b!tching about people making them over and over again for ECO's & LD9's and not giving the LN2/2200's some love.
The different heads would require different manifolds...

^^ Good call, thanks for pointing that out... Lets get at least 8 on each list...

Performance Parts For Cavalier, Sunfire, Cobalts and More!!!
Aaron,
just to make sure every one is up to speed. If we can get this going are we going to be putting down the entire price of the manifold or are we going to be putting down a deposit of like half or 3/4 of price and be paying the rest when the product is ready to ship? I am all in either way I just want to spell out as much detail for everyone right off the bat.

We will need 10 members with a $100 NON REFUNDABLE deposit. Meaning if you order you get the $100 credit, but if you dont order within the 2 week ordering period, the $100 is not refundable. I believe this is more than fair?

Good luck guys, I highly suggest talking to every 2.2 owner you know for your best chance at this.
If it's built right, it might be able to fit the S-10s, and also don't forget the older cars like 2nd gen Cavy's and Beretta's that got the mpfi LN2 as well.
I was harsh in the other thread, but to get this done you're really going to have to attack it.
i wish you luck when i was looking into how i wanted to build one i wouldnt be able to do cheaper than 700-750.

R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
Now see this puts me in a tough spot.
I wasn't planning on keeping my 2200, but I would love to support and try out new options for them.
Aaron catch me on AIM so we can chat some more about these.

damndamndamndamn you start this after i bought my wife a labtop for her birthday?
We would need a member to supply a OEM/Stock intake manifold to get the flange dimensions from/

Full CNC equipment in house helps, it is all the maching time...
We have Haas CNC's

I can send in 97- and 98+ manifolds if we get to that point. I could also send a port-matched 97- if people would prefer..

how much of a gain are we looking at, im sure a lot more people would want to buy if we could get a hp increase estimate
Josh wrote:how much of a gain are we looking at, im sure a lot more people would want to buy if we could get a hp increase estimate
That would entirely depend on manifold design and complimentary mods. I'd be more interested in estimated plenum size and runner design parameters. Oh and TB flange options

Mostly, I'm just a little worried about blowing a hole in the plastic mani...
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
For the older LN2s, if there becomes any interest in them - I think all interested parties should have the set up made as such so that they can run top feed injectors and a 2200 rail.
But since nobody has piped up for the 92-97 style yet, that really is meaningless.

Typically the average gain is around 15whp or so, I have seen on other platforms. however as stated above supporting modifications is the determining factor. I have seen much larger gains on forced induction applications. (closer to 30-50whp, once again depends on supporting mods)
I want this because I want to run a MUCH larger TB and a direct port nitrous injection system. Not to mention I want my engine to breath better since the exhaust gases are going to be expired thru a 3" DP and exhaust.
(If I am wrong on possible gains dont flame me please just correct my mis-information) (Thanks)
KFLO wrote:For the older LN2s, if there becomes any interest in them - I think all interested parties should have the set up made as such so that they can run top feed injectors and a 2200 rail.
Good point, although I doubt an aftermarket mani could be made at a reasonable cost to support the stock fueling system. However, I might suggest using 2.4L rails for both applications, as matching the injector angles on the 2200 rail might be difficult? I know my aftermarket manifold didn't try to mimic the 2200 angles. Also, the stock 97- fueling feeds on the passenger side and exits on the driver side, whereas the 2200 uses the driver's side for both, so a 2.4L rail might be easier to adapt.
Josh G. wrote:(If I am wrong on possible gains dont flame me please just correct my mis-information)
I've seen aftermarket manis hurt performance (hell, look at the dyno results for the HO mani on the 2.4L). Supporting mods and manifold design are necessary before you can even remotely predict possible gains.
