How much are you looking to do? You need to consider your valvetrain geometry at some point lol. You have LOTS of piston-valve clearance in a 2200 if that's what you're worried about.

have stock pistons know you can get shorter push rods once you do it

is .150 too much for a stock bottom end

Why are you wanting to shave it? Is it warped? If not, you are wasting your time/money. You are not going to see very significant gains.

True to a degree, but you are not going to see gains like I assume you think you will. There are other key aspects that you need to take into account. I am not going to tell you not to do it, but I will tell you that I probably have the highest documented LN2 out there (I may be wrong, but I yet to see proof of it!).

Also, it would be benificial for you to fill out your registry so we can help you. By knowing your current mods/future mods, and goals, the situation can be addressed more thoroughly. Also, if you don't want to take my word on it, feel free to speak to MadJack, OHV Notec, and Bob Guptill. All are VERY knowledgable with this engine, along with a few others on here. There are better things you can do the head that will net you more usable HP. SOme of things include a good port and polish, oversized valves, and upgraded valvetrain. A good tune with the work I described will also help all of it work together.

but wouldn't bigger rockers, shaving the head, pnp, +1mm valves, new springs, and other new valvetrain parts, and maybe some modded lifters give the car a bit of power? maybe bring it over what a twin cam or eco stock will put out?

to fully help the op i would liek to see an overall goal of where he wants to end up with his car.

If you're going through the effort of pulling the head, just make sure you're doing more than shaving it. I think that's what Phat was trying to get across. Also, punctuation. Please.

hey guys, when doing headwork(cuz i'm actually trying to do some soon....just pulled a head from a yard), should i check the size of each cumbustion chamber for consistancy? i've heard if i don't, it could make for a tuning nightmare.

Just make sure it's not cracked anywhere, I pulled 2 in a row at a junkyard that were both cracked. Also, they have a tendency to warp pretty bad sometimes too.
