Removing fuel lines

Okay to my understanding I need a quick disconnect tool to remove the fuel lines. I am looking to remove the fuel lines coming from the fuel rail back to the fire wall area.

There is metal line from the fuel rail then it connects to the rubber hose, then.....back to the metal line.

What is the line called? You know if I needed to replace that portion of it.

My plan is to run a new fuel line that will clear the intake pulley. (dont say it brad, I know)

Can someone who has tried this verify its complexity or is there another route? I plan to try to adapt the LG0 line there or a cavalier line since they do not have this round thing.

Here is a picture of what I plan to remove and still am unsure of what it is.

Looking at this picture to the right of it the two metal lines then continues to two rubber hoses....well that rubber hose is what I need to remove since its crimp on to the line. As it continues it goes towards the fire wall then connects to a metal line again. Will a quick disconnect tool be sufficient?

yes, all you need is a quick dis-connect tool. pop both lines off down by the firewall and you really could just use the entire LG0 line system i am pretty sure. if not, just use a stock j-body line setup and have AN fittings crimped to the rubber parts.

whatever you do, dont skimp out and use worm clamps and POS connectors. PLEASE.

I used my existing 2.4 style rail and fuel lines. altho i adaped the 90 LGO rail to mine so i can retain the schrader valve but i had to use a compression fitting to splice one of the lines together look like crap but it works till i can get my AN setup done. The nut that threads onto the drivers side of the rail is a different size. You can buy the AN quick disconnect adaptors from summit, usually listed on ebay under LS1 fuel line connectors.

Is there a part number or part name for that hose that connects to the metal line on both sides? Because Im leaning to buying it new instead of getting it from the junk yard.

I will do it right....I have nothing but time now since my project has been delayed due to a soon arrival of a baby girl.

So instead of just hooking everything back up and getting her back on the road....Im going to take my time and do a wire tuck....extend all the wires and tuck them out of sight.
