Mark at OEM said he can get this done for us if we can find 3 or more people. If you provide your own oil pan, it will be your responsibility to ship it to Mark, otherwise you will have to contact him about a core. I contacted a few guys already but lets see how many we can get. I'm sure he could have these powder coated if anyone would like that as well.

I'd be interested this fall cause I am going turbo. Will this product be offered later in the year through them or is it just a one time group buy thing?

That looks very nice Mark.
Darren, I would recomend tapping the girdle. I was gona do my pan again but figured since Ill have a bare block for my build it would be easy as hell.
Don't i need the oil pan tapped also for return?
No you can tap the back of the block, its a much better spot than the pan. Less chance of blowing a seal, and makes the return line much easier specialy if your auto.
^^Yea But I wouldnt risk tapping the block if your not taking the engine out of the car first. That way you can clean out the shavings.

Yessir. Ill have a bare block waiting for my forged goodies soo it will be out of the car.
I can see that plug on the bottom being an issue. I have come close to taking out my pan many times and that plug head would have been just enough to hit. just a thought.
I was also thinking of that plug on the bottom becoming an issue
I am barely clearing things as it is
Did you add abuot an inch of material to the pan Mark?
My engine will be out for the 2.3 swap anyway so i can tap the engine itself

Can we get the bottom drain plug fit to the side of the extra added material if clearance might be an issue? Michigan roads are terrible as it is and this might be an issue now that others have mentioned the clearance.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
I can make it so the pan has the extra drain on the side.my question to you is if that extra 3/8" will hit the ground then maybe the swap is not right for you. My ttr k brace is about 2" from the pan but i dont have it extended. I never hit the ttr brace on anything yet.

Just wondering how much material you added to bottom of the Pan Mark?
Wanna check clearance
dayyyym... i am liking that flat bottom.
mike-when u say tap into block for oil return... do you mean the oil passage plug or actually somewhere else? i would think it would pressurize the return making it back asswards and actually pushing oil rather than collecting it.
i like the idea though cuz im also auto and know the lack of room.
PFFT secret cams?! pm me if you want a real upgrade.
Actualy tapping into the back of the block, theres been a few that have done it but like said its not the best idea unless the engine is out of the car.
Heres a pic I stole from skilz's cardomain. Im thinking a 45* fitting would work best just like I have in my pan now.
