1.) rebuild orig ld9 with forged internals, add turbo or s/c
2.) stroke ld9 to 2.6 with forged internals and turbo or s/c
3.) scrap both ld9s and swap in a 3800 with a m90(if it fits)

For the money you'll spend, you'll kick yourself later.

Been there, done that...
My talon was an 11 sec daily drivable car. Pushing close to 500 awhp.
Im not looking to build another monster, just have another fast daily.

well since you cant stroke an ld9 to a 2.6 i guess that only leaves 2 options

Anything is possible. The 2.0 in my Talon was stroked to a 2.3. Custom length rods, custom height pistons and bored just right.....
Shouldnt take too much to do on a ld9. 0.010" shorter pistons and 0.040" larger diamter pistons should be sufficient to make a 2.6.

rods and pistons are not enough..in order to STROKE an engine you have to INCREASE THE STROKE..that means you have to change the CRANK with one that has a longer stroke
there are no cranks for the LD9 that have a longer stroke, period
and no, boring an LD9 out .040 will not make it a 2.6 either..youll have to bore out alot more than that
so just stick with boost and youll be fine
