I've recently run into some motor issues with my 98 Z24 2.4L and I am thinking of doing a engine swap. My question is, would the 2.0 ecotec Turbo motor out of the newer model Cobalt SS fit in my car? And what all would I have to change or do...
better off to buy the cobalt as once your done, thats basically what you will have. you need to swap EVERYTHING over... literally. you would be better off buying the turbo'd cobalt. you can how ever swap over an 2.2L eco and turbo that. theres still alot involved though with a pre 99 j-body though. you have to swap over quite a bit too. thankfully the eco manifolds are all pretty much the same and there are lots of turbo options available straight from GM if you put your mind to it.
