custom 2.3/2.4 headers
Saturday, March 07, 2009 9:21 AM
I am posting to see if there is any interest in custom big tube headers for the 2.3/2.4 guys. These headers are stepped with a 4 into 1 collecters. They are made with 18 gauge tubing and a 3/8 flange. Can be made with 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 tube sizes or the big ones with 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 tubes ( race only ). All collecters are 4 into 1 and 3 " with a 3 bolt flange. If there is enough interest, a jig will be made to reproduce this header for everyone. A V-band maybe an option as well

Right now these headers are selling for $450 plus shipping and $80 for the ceramic coating. This is just a ball park of how much the jbody header will cost.

Here are pics of the header he makes for Beretta's, Calais' and Achieva's

If I had the money and knew I wasnt going to use the turbo I have I would be looking into dropping my car off with Ron.

yup see thats the issue at the moment. he told me if i send him a regular ld9 header he would copy the basic dimensions and make it work for an 086 head but be his design entirely. i guess we could do that...

but with most of the j population in ohio i cant imagine it being that difficult to find someone willing to let ron have their car over a weekend or something. i would do it but ohio is 17 hours away from me

I already have some volunteers to take their Jbody to Ron.

I could send him my DC Sports header as well. I have sent him pics of it and the large tube header that Karo and I had so far.

It's Kurt with a K, you know this. Only cunts spell it with a C.

We drove over night as well, a lot less traffic that way, plus we only stopped for gas.

I'm less than 2 hours from him and have volunteered already. Ron wants to make sure it's going to be worth all the time and expense to produce a header for us that will make an estimated 20WHP increase (done on the HO motor already). I'm jobless right now and have the spare time.

From the looks so far, He might have a good start to a decent level of interest.

I'll try to make arrangements to get to him ASAP.

Yeah, I've been away with personal issues for about 2 years, I got divorced, suffered a nervous breakdown, lost my job, went through counseling, several different types of anxiety pills, and now I'm back. I'm jobless, broke and homeless (living with my parents), but, I'm alive. My only goal is to have fun and enjoy my kids, hobbies, and life.

I can't wait to get out of the cold and to some meets, that is from my getting professional help, see it's working LOL

One thing worth noting is that when he made these for other cars the collector hung too low and bottomed out on damn near everything, just FYI for you guys who have no idea!

i have to agree.....my header hangs pretty low..ESPECIALLY since i lowered the car...id say it probably isnt 6" off the ground...if that.
lucky for me my car isnt a daily driver. i take it to meets, the track, and car shows thats about it...ANY kind of pot holes, speed bumps , etc.. i avoid like the plague !

You can put my name down for the funding.
Granted you all know where mine will end up.

I'm trying to get an appointment set up with Ron to get my car in to his shop for mock up. I may not be able to afford one, but if i can get it out on the market I'm more than happy to help.
