FEELER - Aluminum coolant reservoir

hey guys !
I wanted to let you know that our good friends at vulcanturbo.com have made us an offer on aluminum coolant reservoirs !!
i know we had a thread on these a while back and i was hoping some of you were still interested since we will need 10 orders
to get them made.
They will be ALL aluminum and be a bolt in replacement for the stock plastic unit. Mount to the stock location and use the stock hoses(from what i understand)
They will also come powdercoated in color of your choice....total price..................200+10shipping

so for $210 you will get a complete aluminum replacement coolant tank in the color of your choice. but we will need 10 orders. if there is enough interest i will start a group
buy thread in the proper section. This is just a feeler to see if the interest is still there. So lets hear it, .. who wants one??!!

Im interested.

Do you have pics of one or drawings? Just so we can get an idea of what it would look like.

Would it show the level? What about the plug that goes into the tank at the bottom?
Not sure I'm actually interested, but I do hate how the stock one looks.

id be in if it looks identical to the stocker and you can still use the rk cf cover.

Are you scared of the changes coming? The answer is on the inside.

actually...there probably wouldnt be much of a cooling benefit..changing the plastic to aluminum wont change weight much either...the goal is to get rid
of our UGLY coolant tank and replace it with one thats durable, custom, and attractive, so you dont have to pay another $100 for a cover to go on it to keep it from sticking out
like a sore thumb in your engine bay....so for those of us who really care how our engine bay looks THIS will be the way to go.
i am currently waiting on some kind of pic, but gauging interest in the mean time. so stay posted, and let me know if your interested !!

Hey guys! When i was approached to do this i didnt know it was for ya guys here on the org! Anyways im assuming that this reservoir is the same for all the cavaliers/sunfires from 95-04? correct? I just want to be sure for fitment issues. This reservoir will be OEM replacement like he said, it will be very close in size to the stock one. Ill have to quick run and pick up a used one at a local salvage yard unless someone here has a spare theyd like to donate for scientific purposes. I have about 20-30 colors to choose from but i think mirror black would be most popular, i dont have the machines necessary to polish these to a mirror like finish however i can also offer them as uncoated and they could be polished once you receive.... Lets get a list to see where were at:

scott LOL... how can you justify saying instead of spending $100 for a cover to clean it up spend $200+ for a completely different one when in the end you get the same result... it looks better than it did?

i do think its a damn good idea though. i just have never minded the look of mine personally, i dont see why everyone thinks the stocker looks like crap. granted the one in my car was old and crap looking so i went and bought a brand new one

i hate the look of it ...i have a new one..its still ugly..i bought a used cf cover for it...that just made it look like i was trying to cover it up. I then painted it AND put the cover on it. which i soon learned these tanks dont take well to paint...i still hear people go " IS THAT? ...no, he just put a cover on it haha " ..Blah, so ill be getting an aluminum one

the RK collent cover isnt $100 anyway its $ 79. i only said about polishing it cuz i have the billiet strut caps and figured havin a polished collent tank would accent them as well as bring some brighter color to the bay . ill need a uncoated one cuz i might have it done the same color as my VC when i get that done

I won't add my name to the list until I see one. I also agree nothing wrong with a stock looks wise if it is taken care of. I have seen some that were nasty, and when people paint them black. OH MY GOD are they ugly then.

I dug mine black with the CF cover personally, paint stuck fine.

i liked the the look of the plain CF look on the stuff, i need to replace the cover cuz the hose clamp had slipped from the pliers and cracked the clear

Hmm, smaller would definitely be better. Move it out of the way so we could run hot side charge piping into the fenderwell

I agree. Making it out of metal should allow for you to make it shorter, and still have the same amount of capacity. The stocker is thick, and has lots of baffles inside it.

But how often do you have to change an alternator? I have to remove part of my charge piping to get in that area anyway, doesnt look like the res would be too hard to remove.
