What j body trans mount up to these motors,,3.8&
3.4 if they dont what trans do i need to buy,, i just got finished putting in my ld9 and am thing of doing a swap any links would be helpful thanks

i think the 3 speed auto tranny that comes in j's bolts to the 3800
but i took what you said that you swapped in a 2.4 and now want to swap in a 3800 into the same car

holy crap do a search this has been beat to the ground god. i get sick of email and @!#$ like this and lately this winter the board has been filling up with the treads about this topic. if you have no idea how to search for your info using SEARCH button then you aren't qualified enough to swap the motor.
almost every piece of this swap has been mention here so dig a little and find it like go check out the 3rd gen section
bolt the 3 spd up do that, build a catch can on the back so you can pick up the pieces too

yeah thats what i used and i blew one to pieces and the other just slips really bad now
