why do you ask? do you have one off a stock car or something?

any way... im pretty sure it would, unless the mounting holes on the 2.3 are different from that of the 2.4.

As long as your not using a smaller underdrive or HO crank pulley you can run a smaller belt a completely bypass the A/C. I used to have the Gates # on Quad4Forums

the only reason i ask is that my ac compresser is dead and i dont really care to have ac(i live in new england its hot 2 months of the year)and its making a very loud squealing noise its embarassing, also it should free up some horsepower

its not going to free up any horsepower. when the AC compressor isnt engaged it spins freely via a clutch system as part of the pulley. and even so the computer dis-engages it at a certain RPM or at WOT... i cant remember but when your on it, its off.

the ONLY advantage is ditching that heavy compressor and all of the AC components from the car. THATS where you may feel a difference in how the car performs.

and just order a 2.4 LD9 ac compressor bypass pulley. you can get them right from GM for around $75.00. but be aware, they are getting more and more difficult to find.

Im using the gm bypass pulley, but Ill be removing it soon and getting the shorter belt to bypass it completely. It will just give my hot side charge piping a little more room down there. Nothing wrong with the bypass pulley, if you want it you can have it for like $30 shipped.

Anyone wana find me the part number for the shorter gatorback or gates belt? I dont feel like searching Im lazy

Yes you can, I have a under drive pulley and still don't run a bypass pulley, just a really short belt.
