Tuesday, September 02, 2008 12:12 PM
I need a performance cam for my 96 2.2 ohv motor now ! I can't wait 2 more weeks for ip/ web cam's to finish them they where supposed to be done by the end of aug. I have 1 race left in less than 2 weeks does anyone have any leads. I already checked with all the cam manufaturers ,comp cams, lunati, etc but nothing for the single cam motors..

i got mine re-ground at crane.

no one offers a drop in cam off the shelf for the J-s.

JBP might have an already reground cam sitting on the shelf ready for shipment......but they're pricey, and you have to go through an authorized retailer now.

JBP's Cam

where you happy with the crane cams regrind, what was there turn around, what cam specs did ya give them. $385 for a regrind form jbp is plain silly. I'll get my 240 ready in 2 weeks before that.

Yes, very happy.

Their turnaround time usually depends on how busy they are.

I dont have my cam card in front of me, or I would tell you the specs.

Over all I have some slight idle issues from the cam, but perfection other then that. It matches the spool of my turbo quite well, and really makes a HUGE difference in it.

I would call them for info about turn around, etc.

My guess for John's cam was 160 for the regrind from crane and took about two weeks but i could be wrong.

Well, at least not for the LN2 sadly... You'd think since most cam manufacturers are used to making cams for pushrod engines they would. But, the LN2 is "Just a 4-cyl...", and not worthy of their attention in their minds. Shame... I think if they did take it seriously We'd see alot bigger power numbers & aftermarket for it.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Thats who I got my cam from (thanks BTW)

But I have since had them do another regrind on another project.

Prices have gone up slightly, and so has there turn around.....depending on thier work load.

Also on the latest cam I got done, I called them and told them what I was building, and what I wanted it to do, and where I wanted the power band, with what equipment.....and they figured out the best cam for me.
I suck at cam math, so its better to have the professionals do it for me

I was also very pleased with that cam. It was under $200 still.
