what is the quickest engine to put in a cavi? w41 or eco
I can get an Eco in the trunk in about 2.5 minutes, from ground to carpet.

stock for stock w41 hands down
which is a better platform to work on?
UH....what are you planning on doing?
3400 swap it, then put 3500 heads and intake manifolds on the 3400 short block.
Torque is for the win.
Since he asked "W41 or ECO", im going to go with W41. I prefer the Quad over the Eco so Im a bit biased.
W41.......would love to have one under my hood

thought you said the 3800 wasn't as effcient as a 2.4 why you suggesting it now
W41 if you have a 95 FOR SURE NO QUESTION
ECO if you have a 00-02
96-99 theres probably equal amount of work to do for both
3800SC if you can't fabricate it can get expensive, Northstar V8 well its been done once a lot of work and VERY LITTLE INFO OUT THERE and i bet he gets emails constantly able HOW TO DO IT, i get some for the 3800SC and theres infor out there about it
RESEARCH don't make posts that are easy to find liek what 5spd tranny to use cause that tells us you didn't research.
but i would say ECO for sure you can do a super or tubo from a cobalt or a 9-3 get good numbers. W41 might be harder to find a good one or even 1 at that i know there hard to mind around here maybe bigger cities
just searched car-part.com 92 grand am 2.3 HO theres 7 in the US non in Iowa 1 is a core so your down to 6 the other is noisey so 5 your running out of options fast there milage is another thing you can find an eco with 10000 even less if your luck good luck finding a W41 with that

No.
96-99 is damn near a direct swap also, same work for a 95, TUNING.
00-02 Z.. W41, LG0, LD2 or LD9...
you would have to rewire the car to run a L61. more so then a Quad.

What makes you think you need a new engine? Leakdown test results?
