hey yall. i havent posted on here in a while mainly because i dont have my old sunfire anymore. but anyways im not new to the j body scene at all. both me and some of my close friends have been driving them for years. i sold off my old 96 back in 07 and i just picked up a 2004 chevy cavalier sedan. mainly because my truck is to expensive to drive and my fiance needs a good dependable daily driver. i do have to say i was a little gun shy about buying a newer j body just because i dont really have any experience with the ecotec motor. ive been through the 2.2 ohv motors but never the ecotec. so anyways a little about the new car. its a black 04 cavalier sedan, 2.2 ecotec automatic. its a 1 owner car and we picked it up with just over 35,000 miles on it (dealer trade in). we dont really wanna go hog wild with it but my main questions are what do these ecotec automatics run in the 1/4 stock. i was told somewheres in the mid 16's? i would really like to get it down into the mid 15's if possible around a 15.3-15.5 in the 1/4. what do i need to do to achieve this? and what are the best mod ideas and boltons for the ecotec?
Intake, full exhaust and HP tuners.

intake, exhuast, Nitrous!
Swap a b18c5 in it and you're golden. I hear it bolts right up to the stock mounts
Um......just kidding. Supercharger FTW!
The friggin GMPP supercharger is STILL $2500 when the one for the 2.4 is only $1600, that BLOWS.
As soon as they sell the Ecotec 2.2 SC for $1600, I am getting one.
+1 on the SC.
2003 Sunfire with a 2 1/4 inch turbo muffler, 2 1/4 piping to a 2 1/2 inch resonator (bigger to make up for the baffling), a 2 1/4 inch catalytic converter, 2 1/4 inch down-pipe, a ported LSJ manifold, a drop in K&N filtercharger and sports a Bomber body kit with a VIS Invader hood.
i didnt really wanna jump in all that deep and put a supercharger on it. not goin for nitrous either this is just a plain jane daily driver. i just wanna try to keep up with half the other vehicles on the road today. can i expect mid 15's out of a good header and full exhaust, with a cai and some good solid motor mounts? what about the hp tuners program? is it a hand held programer or do i have to get it tuned on a dyno?

Pretty much does what you need right there. If you wanted a little more power, a set of stage 1 comp cams and HPT should be more than sufficient for what your goal is.
2010 Honda Fit LX
HPT is handheld i believe but I have never seen/used one so don't quote me...
