Intake sensor--what to do with it after short ram install?

I have a 93 Cavi 2.2 OHV that I race on dirt tracks. I just put an e-bay cheapie short ram intake on. Because I couldn't find one for a 93, I had to use one that was designated for 95-97. When I took out the stock intake box, I (obviously) had to unplug the sensor. There is no place to plug the sensor into the new intake.

Not that it's causing any problems, but with the sensor just wire-tied out of the way and not attached, not surprisingly, when I raced it for the first time since the install this week, I kept getting the check engine light, I'm sure triggered by the unplugged sensor.

My question is, is there anything easy I can do with the sensor to avoid getting the CEL? Someone told me about the resistor (or whatever it is) to plug into it, but I've heard mixed opinions on that. Or is it no big deal and fine as it is, unattached? Thanks for your help!
