installing eagle Hbeam rods

I am putting my engine together, and about to assemble my pistons and rods.... I dont see any asymetry in the rods themself... the only way i can tell one side from the other is the one side has the eagle logo and the other side has some codes...

i did not get any paperwork with my rods, saying which side is which... does it matter?

my pistons all have a little arrow stamped into them, which i understand points towards the front of the engine... but what about the rods? does it matter?

i couldn't either but i talked to the shop who does all my machine work and they said it doesn't matter but which ever way you point them keep them all the same.. I just went eagle logos all facing the front of the engine (timing cover side)

typically it does matter, alot of the time its slightly offset to help with rod angle and side loading of the pistons

Did you happen to measure the rods(when caps are closed and torqued to spec), then happen to measure the crank journals to make sure you have adequate spec clearance? Just tryin to save ya a few shavings in your oil.

Have you tried contacting Eagle, and asking them??

I would agree that it SHOULDNT matter, so long as you are consistant, but never hurts to verify with the manufacturer.

Just FYI... just talked to Eagle... they say the rods are symetrical and it doesnt matter which way they go.
