Ok i got a 99 sunfire..Im tryin to figure out what kind of motor i got is it s a quad 4 or what its a gtg sunfire it says 2.4 twin cam but some guys say it can be a quad or a v tech or somthing whats the diff what does a quad look like
it is a member of the quad 4 family of engines, and is a 2.4L version. This engine was in all Sunfire GTs' from 96-01, and early 02's. In 95, it had a quad 4, but was the 2.3 version
i think tech 4 is the motor your trying to refer to....not v tech

no you dont want a tech 4....and the other question was already answered....its part of the quad 4 family. kinda like how a square is also technically a rectangle.
They both are quadrilaterals though.
So 2.4L twin cam(a.k.a LD9) is to Quad 4 as squares are to quadrilaterals.
And yea the tech 4 is good for circle track tube frame cars, that's about it. It never came in a cavalier or sunfire ever. There is pages upon pages of info on this motor on this site. research first then ask informed questions. Also if your into building a motor google Hot Rod and quad 4 for their hybrid build up.
