On some of these headers I see for sale, they state that with them being installed, you will not pass emissions nor is it legal to have.
Has anyone failed emissions due to a header?
Has anyone been told "take it off or you'll be fined?"
if you live in california....yes. you wont fail the sniffer because of it but you won't pass visual. and if a cop pops your hood, you will have to go back to stock. its uber gay. i did it twice last month. and once you get your first ticket, they know to pop your hood EVERY TIME YOU GET PULLED OVER!!!!! so make sure your turn signals work. lol
(you can find C.A.R.B. stickers in junk yards on occasion)
Listen F***ers. FASTERTHANAHONDA is a joke because I WORK FOR HONDA. I'll talk @!#$ about Fords to, that doesn't mean I can beat a 12 second mustang.
Pacesetter has a carb cert.
^^ I hear you on that. My state has adapted the IM240 (Inspection/Maintainance 240-sec road-going operation-simulation test) a few years back, and they tend to be sticklers on anything with an OBD-II system. However, in a stark contrast, they just waved required testing for all pre-'96 vehicles... At least the gasoline fueled ones.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Ah man, Pacesetter sounds like a viable option as long as they are carb exempt.
I was about to ditch the header option, but I might just go this route instead.
Thanks guys!
