Hi friends, as it could recognize a W41 engine without uncovering the same one?

I ask this question because I saw a engine 2.3 quad 4 in that their owner affirms to be a W41, I have understood that the W41 is written in the idi cover or not?

yes..it is writtin on the idi cover "w41"..now its possible that someone could have changed it but doubtful .. also what kind of car is it? since the only differnce between the HO and the w41 quad4 is the camshafts then its almost impossible to tell which it is when the idi has been changed

The model specs were taken from only 2 door versions of each model, engine availability is not always the same for the 4 door version of these models.

W41 only came in Acheiva SCX's and Calais W41-optioned 442's. They also got a different Memcal, with a 7400?rpm rev limit instead of the HO's 6500?rpm limit
