And I'm not exactly sure why you would want an L40, but they are all over every junk yard around here. They are notorious for cracked heads, so I don't know how easy it would be to find one in good condition. You should probably look for a car that was obviously in a collision (preferably T-bone or predominantly rear end damage), would be the best indication that the engine might be in decent condition.

yes they DID come with a 2.3 sohc but it was called the 2.3 OHC..and it was crap..HE has a 95 but like he said hes looking for this engine for a customer of his.
They did not came in the CHEVY. They did in the Olds but not chevy. The 2 chevy to have 2.3's were hte GTZ (Ho) and the 95 Cavy (LD2.9)
