looking for perfomance upgrades/ideas, for my 91, 2.0 auto

basically, i just had the head gasket redone, new head, valve springs, timing belt, water pump and 2 1/4 exhaust all the way back, and a custom air intake, what can i do to achieve some much power, also how much hp, do these engines come stock w/

There isn't much for the OHC engine. I swapped my '90 to a 94 engine with PFI. You could locate a running Daewoo and remove the DOHC 2.0 (or 2.2 depending on the car) engine, trans (if auto then it's a 4 speed), and OBDII pcm to install in your car. Sounds strange but it's all GM and the engine is based on the same Opel / Vauxhall 2.0 which is in your car now. Be warned this requires some fabrication skills.

If you look at European sites you might find parts for the SOHC engine like yours. They call it a "large block" over there. Migweb might be a neat forum to visit if you want to get some ideas. But unfortunately, not too many US companies are interested in the 2.0 SOHC.

If it's the Brazilian OHC, you'd be better off swapping it, those heads just crack like no one's business. Believe me, back in the day when those engines were dime a dozen, 90% of the time the heads were cracked! But that's my opinion!

ha idk it might be, i just re-did the head, it was magnaflux'ed and came back with 13 major cracks, and 5-7 hairline, luckly nothing blew, everythings fixed and she runs like a champ now
