1992 2.2L4 fuel injection system

I'd like to find out the specs on the stock fuel system. What I'd like to know is the stock injector flow rate and stock fuel pressure.

What injectors are plug-in compatible and will increase fuel flow? I'd like a 10-20% increase What adjustable pressure regulators are available? What fuel pumps are available that are resistant to alcohol fuels?

So far what I've found out is that the stock injectors are a side-feed design. Any help?

Joel, sorry I missed this question elsewhere. I believe the 92 - 93 injectors are the same. The intake / rail assembly is the same for both year cars. You might get better luck looking for "top feed conversion."

I've looked over the "top-feed" conversion and it's just too much work and modification. I want to find something closer to plug-in.

There isnt any the top feed comversin is the only way. Ive looked at the sr20 injectors and the rx7 side feeds they will not fit.

Ok. If I get a used manifold from the scrap yard, what do I need to convert it and what physical size injectors will I need? Will any intake manifold between '92 and '97 work?

I *believe* I have the closest thing to the "plug-in" system.

It took:

1) replacing the ecm with one which was supported by commonly available tuning software
2) changing 4 batch fired injectors into 2 pair of 2 batch fired injectors by adding / modifying appropriate wiring
3) modifying said ecm to handle the increased current requirements of the TBI injectors
4) replacing the fuel pressure regulator with an adjustable type
5) modifying the adjustable regulator to allow a minimum pressure below 30 psi
6) empirically determining the minimum injector pulsewidth allowable before the injectors refused to open and close consistently (this value was greater than the minimum needed to deliver correct fuel at idle and low speed)
7) adjusting the software variables to allow the injectors to fire 2x the calculated pulsewidth but 1/2 as many times during a complete crank revolution in order to deliver the correct fuel at idle
8) lots, and lots, and lots of tuning time.

Additionally, it seems as though I might have gotten lucky in finding 5 of these injectors at the junkyard. No one else appears to have had the same luck.

All this work kept me from:
1) boring the OE injector holes larger
2) adding a fuel rail
3) changing the regulator
4) modifying the fuel lines
5) obtaining junkyard injectors which were more appropriately sized for my engine and power needs
