i found out today the car has some issues with the head, and head gasket (91 sunbird , 2.0, auto trans)...question is what motors can direct swap into it, ??

Not sure for direct swaps... another 2.0L TBI, 2.0L MPFI, 2.0 MPFI turbo are fairly simple to put in, or you could drop in i think either a 2.8 or 3.1 V6.. other than that.. depends how crazy you want to go.

yea, honestly it was becuase my headgasket went, and i wasnt sure about possible damage, but i found out just a head gasket

Any pre-'97 LN2 (2.2L) will bolt-up the same. The only difference you'll need to worry about is the need for a larger injector in your TBI unit. That's assuming (I know, don't do that.) you're reusing the '91's intake and style of fuel delivery system. If so, search out the injector for a 2.5L that has the same design injector unit as your 'bird. It'll be more than enough to feed the tu-tu's increased stroke over the 2.0's, and will work well with it once you have the fuel map in the chip reprogramed. Uh, this is a pushrod 2.0L, right?
