Can anyone link me to, or explain, in simple terms, what the different numbers on cam specs mean, and why they are important? I'm going to be starting a build in the spring (finally), and want to know as much about all the aspects of the build as possible (in other words, you'll see a lot of me, an I'll be asking a bunch of questions which I can't find answers to or answers I can understand). The build is on a 3.1L in either a '92 cav 4 door RS, or I'm packing it into my '88 Beretta (in which case I'll have gen 2 goodies for either free or cheap available). Basically, I'm looking for all-motor (no, I'm not looking for specific HP numbers from the end result of the build, because that would be ridicoulous, especially after seeing all the folks saying "I want x hp all motor" and it's either out of the engine's capabilities, or just too high to spend a reasonable amount of money on), and my cam options are pretty much the cams on summit racing (I'm looking at the kits, and a set of those extruded rocker arms, if I can afford 'em). Any help is greatly appreciated.
On the MPFI subject, how well do those eBay intakes with the K&N cone filters work? Is there a better option that won't kill my constantly empty wallet? Intake and exhaust is pretty much the only solid starting point I have, but I want some input there, too, and thought this would be a good place to gather opinions.
Also, please don't clog up my post with a bunch of "Dude, just do a 3400 swap" posts, because I don't have that kind of patience, and a 3400 around here runs about $1200 - $1400 depending on condition, and the cav with a 3.1 is $500 from my co-worker. Dollars to donuts, the whole car is a better deal.

Seems I acquired a case of useful information blindness. Thanks for the re-direction.
