I was wondering if the JBO community would be interested in Quad4 HO cylinder heads. Yes, I will do a sponsorship or whatever your rules require... Does Dave this run this joint?
We are getting rid of the last of our 4 cylinder stuff. No SLP converters left, though.
Cylinder head casting number: 22539086
Olds 1987 to 1989 138 CID 2.3L 3.62'' Bore Inline 4 MFI Quad4
Olds 1990 to 1991 138 CID 2.3L 3.62'' Bore Inline 4 Quad4 HO
These are uncut cylinder heads. They have only the basic machining on the exhaust, intake, and deck sides. You will have to machine provisions for the spark plugs, valves, ect. Injector passage already cut.
If you guys are interested let me know and I will contact whoever I need to sell them on here. If you want to know where I always find this stuff I sometimes work with GM, SLP, LPE, Cloyes, Precision Industry, and Yank Converters and will liquidate production overrun or obsolete items.
Thank you.

GMR has got nothing on this
Yea. I figured at this point they are so antique no one would want them. But I would hate to throw them out. Brand new casting. AL is only worth 13 cents a lbs so whatever I got woulda been ok for me.
They should fit the LD9's.... for more HP
How much you asking? i have a friend who might be interested if price is right. You have the cam holders and the cams with them?
pics??? and what kind of pricing are we talking? discuss pricing and you might get more response...

Haha, I just found two of the 086 heads at the junkyard today.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Ummm I am really not supposed to post any info leading to a sale
I would be asking a pretty fair price considering that you will have have to machining done on these. But, You would have to anyways if you were building a race motor. Probably not economic for guys wanting something stock. I know some of you JBO guys are hardcore though.
They look like this:
These are bare heads. I was going to ask something to the tune of 120.00
I can easily ship them in the USA. I ship out the USA all the time, though.
I'll talk to my friend to see what he thinks about it but the best would be to have cams with them.
AL is .13 a pound? I'll give you .25 a pound...how's that? I'll even pay for shipping!
120 a head, might be worth jumping at. wonder how much the machine work would be though.

haha you never know. I might take you up on that sometime.
Salvage yards are a total rip around here. I can get .35 a lb for AL if I tell them what grade it as and if it is not mixed. .60 a lb if cleaned al coke cans only.
Cast steel is .03 a lb.
I think batteries are 1.50 per the average car size.
any idea on how hard the machining would be? i mean could any normal machine shop handle the job or are we talkin about having to send it out to a place with all the goodies for a undertaking such as this?
also... how much do you think it would run?
You would more than likey want someone that does work on cylinder heads. A good engine builder should also be able to do it. They usually have all the milling machines and other equipment.
Not realy sure on a price. Feel free to copy the picutres and email them to an experienced builder. That should be enough to at least get a quote.
I may be intrested in one for a lower price come a little later in the future. Don't scrap these. NOT worth it !/
