Hey all of a sudden this whole week my cars been acting funny wanting to die after you drive it and then put it in park from drive or if you rev it up the slightest in park. It will come all the way down to like 200 rpm and just die and shut off. I've checked all vac lines and my car keeps throwing a engine code about the o2 sensor not heating up enough or something 141 or 143 i forget exactly what code it is. Could this be causing this to happen?
hmm... exactly the same problem I'm having but I'm not throwing any codes so I'm going to have to say "no" to the 02 sensor. Plus after driving your car the 02 sensor should be plenty warm unless it's malfunctioning all together. I noticed my symptoms first started out indicating a misfire but it would only do it like your saying. Free-reving in neutral or idling at a redlight. My RPM's would sputter a little and drop and completely die. If i step on the gas a bit though I can usually save it. Anyways I got around to checking my spark plugs the other day concerning this matter and they're covered oil. Obviously I got other issues going on but I'm currently associating my sputtering in the lower RPMS to poor ignition due to oil. I have a post in the Performance thread on the oil subject.
Have you tried checking you fuel pressure? I had the same problem and I checked everything. Then I checked my fuel pressure and noticed that it was very unstable. So got a new Fuel Pressure regulator and solved the problem.
