For those of you strapped for cash and wanting to save fuel, there is an easy and inexpensive way of getting better performance and using less fuel for just a little cash.
I have a 2000 Sunfire SE and replaced my K&N filter and put in an upper engine mount and found that I get 10 more mpg in highway driving and 8 more mpg in city driving. My sticker MPG ratings are 21/29 mpg and I got 29/40 mpg recently. It costs a total of $65 and both are installed easily yourself.
Upper engine mount for $20:

K&N filters are available at any Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. and cost about $45.
Anybody else find inexpensive ways to save gas?
We have the mounts at almost half those prices, those are very high prices for those mounts.
Also we carry the K&N filters for about $35-40 bucks

My APC underglow kit added 10mpg and 8000 whp from the way it ionized the air going under my car and thus reducing drag, WOW I wonder what results would be with a engine mount and K&N filter I would have to start wearing a helmet to go down my driveway!

was this post real???????
Did this guy really just compare his sticker mpg and his current mpg and think he gained anything cause his actual mpg is better?
Go back to school ricer....Motor mounts and filter dont do @!#$ for you, especially since you prolly got the K&N replacement filter and are still running the restrictive stock intake otherwise. you might as well plastic bag your TB and drive it off a cliff.

Back on subject. Yes you will notice a difference with the kandn filter vs. a dirty filter. I even dyno'ed one to see the difference in power.

yea, it was a bit harsh..but that post almost looked like a spam post lol i thought he was trying to sell it lol
Thanks for the sarcasm. Thought people might be interested in data regarding mpg gains from actual driving. My bad.
The title was very misleading, I thought you were going to talk about some uber magical part that added horsepower and produce marijuana as a by-product...
