rk dog bone mount and auto trans mount question?

I have the the lower dog bone mount from rk on my 2.2 ecotec and i get vibes as usual but i heard that if i get the trans mount it will decrease it along with the upper motor mount, is this true? and if so can you feel your trans shift harder since its stiffer. This is for the automatic, just a reminder. lastly is it even worth wild to get the auto trans mount and upper motor mount?

either way you look at, Youre gonna have some vibes. Poly mounts are made to have no flex or movement. Like Rubber mounts they obsorb the vibes. With poly mounts youre gonna had the added torque performance. ( vibes). With Rubber youre gonna have smooth not vibes, But Mounts wear out quicker. If you got most of all the mounts why not get the tranny ones as well.

Enjoy.
Good Luck.

adding the other mounts changes the way the vibes are felt/heard , usually it changes and is better

the other thing that helps is actually changing the idle speed , but you have to have hp tuners to do it , and id make the changes 50-100 rpm at a time , and try and keep the idle speed below 1000 unless you have a higher stall speed tq converter

doesnt the trans mount allow for more precise and smoother shifting right? also what is the ideal idle at, right now i think mine is around...650-700 i think.

the trans mount will give you pretty bad vibes if you have all the other poly mounts. the vibes are only noticable at idle though so...yes, if the idle was raised to about 800 they would go away. yes its shifts smoother

ideal is what ever your car likes , each is different

mine needed a higher rpm than a friends did using the same trans mount and lower mounts

just make sure and try it a/c on and off

so if i raise the idle the vibes will go away? but i do need hpt to do that, correct? will this even make it worth wild to do this?

you shouldnt buy HPT just to get rid of vibes.
A/C.....lol. somone made a post about how their car sounded like a jet taking off when they had the a/c on. (after putting the auto mount on)
i see you also put pullies for a future mod....if you do both you will A) be lucky to get your battery to charge. and B) never be able to put the ac on anyways. so you should get rid of it if you plan on that.

with the pullies it will lessen the effects of the a/c on at idle , i had the 2.3HO crank pulley on mine

also with the pullies having the idle up higher will help with the idle charging issue , if you change the sizes , personally id keep the stock size and go lighter

read his profile he doesnt even have an exhaust
i think you should buy an exhaust and a few other things before you buy HPT.....uunless you have the money to get them all. if your gonna do pullies, id go with lightweight and not underdrive like 97cavie suggested.

yeah i was gunna get the pulley from rk i think it is and the alternator pulley from the guy that sells it in the group buy on here. the reason im not doing exhaust is because i want to turbo it in about a year or two and wasnt sure if i should even bother with it?
