Hey all, Ive been looking around for this, and havent seen anything about it, I searched, but maybe not good enough.
Anyhow. I've been having a ton of trouble with the ball-cup joint on my exhaust lately, to the point where the setup starts dragging on the ground.
I keep rebolting it up and basically half-assing the project, because I dont want to take it to a shop, and its no big deal to me laying under the car for 10 minutes and I dont really drive too far.
I saw in another thread MadJack suggesting the use of a new collector being welded to the botton of the header, and 2.5" piping to finish the system. I have a 2.5" setup (waiting for 2.5" cat and 2.5" glasspack).
Im wondering with the use of a part from these guys
Stahl. And some fresh piping from the header to the cat, will it work?
Im pretty sure it will all fit together and be alright with some welds (instead of a crappy ball joint) and a flanged 2.5" flex pipe (So I can take it off easier, and I DO have solid mounts, but just in case).
Has anyone done this mod to the Pacesetter header? Worth it?
Im going to be doing an eco-swap in the future, but I realy want to NOT hear a chronic exhaust leak on my 2200 before then
. And im sure theres someone who would like to have a true full 2.5" exhaust for a 2200 for cheap.
Thought Id ask i its been done before.
thanks! any thoughts, suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
yeah i tried to get info of this nature...prob not gonna get much...but i think madjacks advice is solid...i'll be doing it shortly ... gl
Thanks, Im gonna do it too... Let me know what you come up with, Ill keep you posted as well. It was your thread that I mentioned, I was just too lazy to link to it in my first post. I admire youre build as well, Im coping out to an ECO, but I WAS going to build an OHV monster.
