hey guys.im getting ready to do my coil conversion what i need to know is..does it matter how long the wires from the ICM to the coils are? im using the msd coils so i have them wired to the harnes that plugs into the ICM...but can i make this harness too long? is it possible i can leave it mounted to the idi and still mount the coils on the strut tower??or does this need to be as short as possible?? anyone know?? will this hurt anything??
In Theory, The longer the wires, the less efficiency, but it would be so small, you wouldn't notice a preformance issue...
However, idk about your timing, again, shouldn't make much of an issue, but you may have to adjust it a very small amount.

welll...it starts, and runs...doesnt die...performance i dont know i dont really feel any differnce..which i didnt expect too..using stock 2.2 wires right now so i need to find a good upgrade..can anyone recommend good wires and plugs to replace my oem wires and delco plugs??
i have always been told to stick with the platnium delco plugs. but as far as wires, i am all ears on that one.
Just pick up one of those universal msd wire kits, and cut to the length you need. Or I believe some of the gm v6 60* and 90* msd wire kits will work, youll just have an extra 2 haha. Looks very clean though. Did you diy or is it from TG?
Wana do mine if I send ya the parts?
i was thinking about getting denso iridium plugs....and i got the conversion kit used , but looks very simple...i you get the msd adaptors and coils its just 3 wires from your existing harness that you have to wire up...very simple..i believe monkey has the wiring diagram posted
Scott,
I used the MSD 4 cyl Universal 8.5mm wires set (Summit Racing) with NGK TR7XI Plugs.
As long as you have a workbench Vise, cutting the wire set to fit is easy.
