i put on the my new ported intake manifold and every time i turn on the a/c or rear defrost my car almost dies and will jump from 500rpm to 1000rpm and wont stop til either the car dies or i turn it off. And at start up it revs up and down until the car is warmed up.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
It sounds like you left a vacuum line unplugged, like the one that goes to the a/c compressor.
you dont even have your car listed on your profile. so give us all the info on your car and then someone can make an educated guess.
When I swapped to the HO intake manifold mine did that too. Eventually it started to act normal. I did have a vaccum leak I found out later. But it was small and the problem fixed itself before I fixed the leak. Perhaps the computer just needs time to adjust to the larger volume of air?
Rear defrost is electrical isnt it...
i know the front defrost uses the AC Compressor but the rear shouldnt...
I have a intake, ported throttle body and now the manifold. its been a week and still hasnt changed. ill check for the vacuum leak but i dont think so. thanks guys. ill update my stuff tonight.
isn't this like putting on an intake, where the battery gets disconnected for a little while and then when everything gets started back up, the computer relearns the air curve? it would likely relearn it on is own in time, like with Zs Z above
oh and it does sound like a vacuum leak
Im about to go check it out so well see.
My car did the same thing idk if this will work for you but it worked for me. If you have an adapter plate check the gaskets ther might be gettin air thow there.
99z for 2015.. I'm back bitches
What do i do if air is getting through them?
replace gaskets...
however... your rear defrost should not be affected by anything in the engine bay unless its electrical ... which can also affect the engine...
check your grounds...
The gaskets are new. do i need to put any sealant on them?
