ok i have a 01 grand am se...so r u saying that the secret cam swap is a good idea? or not worth it....im worried abotu a bump or sumthing on the lobes, or if the cam gets put in wrong like even 1 tooth out wud be rly bad....i have a few after market parts such as pacesetter header back full exhaust, bomz cold air intake, jet perf mod, plat 4 plugs, tornado fuel saver, how much hp gain wud i get from the cams? what upgrades should i get if i dont get the cams, and what should i do next,WHAT IS THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK????

the secret cams should give somewhere between 5-12 but theres no proof anywhere. also the 2.4 is not an easy engine to tear apart and doing cams is not an easy task. judging by the mods you have, I would study up and hold off on tearing into the engine. plus, with a 99+ GA, GM makes a complete supercharger kit that is far more cost efficient than any other mods you could do IMO.

1st get rid of these items
jet perf mod, plat 4 plugs, tornado fuel saver
the jet performance does nothing, and probaly dumps more feul in your engine.
the plat 4 plugs im guessing are made by bosch? those are junk. AC delco, NGK, even autolites are better than the bosch 4's. and the tornado feul saver is a big waste too

I have read on here that the secret cams work well for a little boost in top end power but sacrifice some bottom end power. I remember a post where someone talked about doing the swap and feeling it pull harder up top but when they went to the track their times were the same as before the swap. So basically your just moving the powerband up, probably better if you want to have good acceleration on the highway. Imo wihout full exhaust, port and polished head, a bigger throttle body, and better intake manifold I would not take the time do the swap, as stated above its not the easiest thing in the world.

you do not NEED bigger injectors nor a 'bigger' fuel rail. our j-body's run pig rich from the factory and im pretty sure ur grand am would to, so no need to go any larger there unless you've got boost or are doing some MAJOR n/a work. they support nitrous just fine as well. an adjustable fuel pressure regulator would come in handy while tuning for spray tho.

pretty much everything out there thats made for a j-body with a 2.4 you can get for your car and make work with little to no modification at all. the only thing that comes to mind that is not usable would be our upper mounts as yours is a completely different setep all together. spyhunter on here modififed a turbo tech racing upper mount to work on his grand am though.
