Hello all, this is my first post on this forum. Ihave been hanging out at automotiveforums.com. I have been reading some stuff on this site and you guys seem to know what you are talknig about, when it comes to internal engine work. I read the one thread on if the 2.2 was worth modding. It was very helpful. I have a 98 2200 OHV 5spd. cav.
On to the question. Since you were saying that simple bolt on mods aren't going to show any real effect on the 2.2, and that you should go the way of new internals, (springs, rockers, pistons) and the like... I was wondering what about $700-800 would get me in parts? Now I dont know if that alone would get me anywhere near the 200hp mark. But it would be nice. I already have the cai, header, and the exhaust. So I want these to come next to compliment the rest. From what I have heard the 2.2 motor is strong and I do take care of it, so I know I wont have any breaking down issues. I do not plan on boosting it. Thank you for all your help.
What's funny to me is people bragging about beating Cavaliers in street races.
port and polish the head would be good and depending on what year your car is .... hpt tunners ??? i think its called ..... correct me if im wrong
both of those would cose u upwards of 500 - 1000 ...
