Rebuild

Ok so I need some help here guys, I cant make a decision and I just want some input other than arguing with myself.
About 6 months ago my motor locked up on me due to...lets say, sabotage. anyways, I found a place in the next town
over that will rebuild my block for $420. I called them and they said that when they rebuild motors that they will weld up
the crank and bore it 40 over for no extra charge.

The other day I bought a block with 40,000 miles on it that had a slight knock in the bottom endfor $50 , and a crank
kit for $90.

My question is this, should i buy the crank kit for the newer block and put it in myself, or spend the extra money and let
someone else do it?

The debates that go on in my head are as follow:

-Buying the crank kit would be cheaper
-Installing it myself would give me future knowledge of how to do so
-Letting someone else do it, will almost assure me that it is done right verses me screwing it up
-If I let them rebuild it I can get it back with a little upgrade

The only other thing I think you should know is that I am not just playing arounf with these motors. My car broke down in
February and I havent been able to work. I just recently came into enough money to get it rebuilt and I need it to be
reliable as to get me on the hunt for a job.

honestly, if you've never done it, and need to know for sure its done right, have a shop or someone who'll warranty their work do it.
