On your year, yes you can.On older models such as my 98 cav,you have to shut the car off.

I think you have it backwards. On the older cars you can have it on but the 97 up you have to have the car off.

I have heard many different things, some say you can go up from 1 to 2 while driving but not back down or
off. Some say ,certain years you have to turn the car off, switch the stage, then drive.I personally have tried going from 1 to 2 while driving and it did nothing but stay in stage1 until I shut the car off and moved it up to stage 2

I noticed that even when i turn the car off if i switch from 1 over off to 2 it'll have a rocky start but be fine everytime after that. Idk if thats happened to anyone else. After its been switched and started once and then started again theres nothing but the first time i switch it it always has a bad start.

He is correct in that sense. But also remember that the B&M was not designed specifically for our trannys. With that in mind the part that is quoted is how it works on my 02 and many others cars. If you don't have it working like that then either your shift plus is messed up or you got the wrong one. But remember its not just for our cars. I don't even think it was designed to work with ours we just made it work

Since we are on the topic of B&M shift plus...i have a question...I recently installed mine about 2 weeks ago...It worked fine but i am finding a problem now and then...From a dig with the shift plus on either in 1 or 2 it spikes off the the rev limiter 3 or 4 times before shifting...is anyone else having this problem, or does anyone no what is going on...im not that great with electronics...but i do know that it was working fine but it is kind of a all the sudden...and as for my input on the previous topic i have an 04 sunfire 2.2L ecotec and i have to shut the car off to switch from 1 to 2 or to off...any information will be greatly appreciated...thanks
