My friend was trying to tell me it didn't and the valves come up and hit the camshaft .....lol

It's kinda odd they're called lifters...they should be called pushers cuz they're forcing the valves down in our fancy little OHC engines haha

in a 2.4, the lifters are used in a much different way than traditional's are.

traditional way- cam lobe/lifter/push rod/rocker arm/ and the rocker arm forces the valve spring down to open the valve

2.4 way- cam lobe/lifter/valve spring/valve opens

hydraulic valve pushers .... just like aluminum.. really aluminium.... oops

haha valves pushing cams ???

like a diesel with spark plugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
