They've actually been shown to disrupt the air flow, as opposed to their claims of creating a faster-flowing "vortex". Thus, instead of the air traveling naturally through your intake, it collides against the blades of these devices which act as an obstruction.

So basically, you're just as well off finding something with holes in it lying around the house that will fit snuggly in your intake and jamming that in there...

In other words, like Lenko said, it's "eBay Crap".
