Where is everybody hooking up the power to there heated o2 ?
I plugged mine into the red 50 plug in the fuse box in the engine bay?
I spliced in the power and ground to the power and ground going to the rear O2 sensor.
does anyone know the color of the power wire on the rear 02 sensor for a 98 z24
also If I have it plugged in with my red 50 IGN fuse in the engine bay will it stay on all the time?
ya, so does anyone know the color of the power wire on the rear o2 sensor for a 98 z24
The heating wires are interchangeable. Polarity doesn't matter. But FYI, brown is power, black is ground on the stock heating element wires for the rear O2 sensor.
I run the power and ground to a purpose built turn on distribution block I setup awhile back.
The same with the ground in which I've got a ground distribution block under the dash with a heavy gauge ground wire running straight to the battery.
The turn on circuit is relay driven so when I turn on the key to "on" mode, it turns on with the car.
To me, this was the best way to hook it up without cutting into the rear O2 sensor and depriving voltage necessary for the rear O2.
It works and utilized what resources I already had.
