Junk yard or a barreta gtz ebay. Cam towers and head need to be off the HO or w41 the stock engine tune can not handle the agressive cam profile and the do not phiscaly fit in the ld9 cam towers.. You will lose power steering with this swap. and the compression will be 11.5-1 or something like that.

Hmmm, where to start

You could not get a W41 in a Beretta. Only in a Calais, and Achieva SCX could you get the W41.

You can use the 2.3 cam towers if you do not want to bore your 2.4 towers to the larger 35mm 2.3 lifters. Stock engine tune can handle HO cams, but noone has said anything about W41's. HPT will help out with that if there is a problem

You will only lose the power steering if you don't convert to a pre 95 power steering setup, or machine the cam and insert the hex drive in it.

Changing the cams doesn't change your static compression.

Also don't you need new pistons to clear the W41 or HO valves....because of the added lift of the cams.

no it wont but he said cam towers and head need to be off the HO or w41 which is not true u do not need the head for the cams but if u do, do the head it will up the compression

I think mdld9 is right...? im going this way in the my future build, and you need valve pockets to clear over wise boom!!!

i think what the guy meant was that the stock 2.4 head wont flow the air needed to run the W41 cams. a port job would probly be needed, if not actually just ditching it and going 086.

I have w41 cams in my ld9 you just need the 2.3 cam towers and machine the cam to run the power steering pump

u also need stiffer springs to handle the extra lift. not to mention the stock 2.4 pistons are all basically flat-tops and have NO valve reliefs. stock 2.3 pistons all have valve reliefs.

where the hell is karo when u need him....

.410" lift cams will clear the stock pistons just fine if you use the ld9 head. The valves are seated higher on the ld9 head compared to a quad4 head. I don't know much about the springs myth anymore. The quad springs are significantly stiffer, but I think Skilz mentioned that he has his turbo motor reving out to 7400 on the LD9 springs. Which seems really odd to me, because he should be floating the valves far before that...especially with that high of lift.

Also, Karo (aka "The fastest N/A J-body to date") found that the W41 cams on an LD9 head didn't do much for horsepower, but IIRC it gave him a great deal of low-end torque. So he just stuck with the HO cams.

the w41 was a top end motor..... The w41 cams make all their power in the higher rpm range, thus why a a LD9 head would never really see the benefits for them. AN HO head on the other hand...

I ment if you switch heads you raise the compression. I type to fast and missed a few key facts. Sorry i am not feeling well.
