i was wondering if i rebuilt my 2.4 motor with forged internals could i turbo chargre it with out any problems because i was tailking to a guy who builds motors for a living and he said the 2.4 liter motors were built without some kind part in the rods and it was like gm built the motor to fail if you turbo it would blow up like nothing
The rods are shot penned from the factory and i've heard are good till about 300hp. I don't think gm would build a motor to fail with FI and then sell a s/c kit. He probably heard something about the common spun rod bearing due to poor oiling at high rpms. The oil pump swap aparently fixes this but there are a lot of people happy witht he stock pump as long as it's maintiained, like everything.

more like 450hp
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, i have already died once and im still here so lets just leave it on the track
the rods themselves my good to 300-400 hp, but the ring that connects the rod to the piston is real thin. then enough for me to get newer rods and pistons
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Could the mechanic have been referring to piston oilers or sqirters to oli the bottom side of the piston to keep it cool? Many of the foreign cans hve these and maybe because the LD9 doesn't and that's why he's saying that, of course we all know he's wrong.
