alright
so i just did the 2.3 mani/TB swap a month or so ago, and i have been noticing the car has been runnig a little hot (on the hot side of halfway on the guage), i didnt think much of it because of it being summer and all. every once in a while driving(either accelerating or in cruise) the car will chug. if i was in cruise the chug will kick me out of it, and sometimes the tach drops to "0" for a millisecond but the engine dosnt loose that many RPM's.
So last night i decided to look into it, so I checked the plugs.... All 4 are white-ish. My dad was watching what i was doing and freaks out and says not to drive anywhere with it. I think white plugs mean im running Lean. I also thought that a lean engine ran hotter. so my dad goes on a rant about how I put a bigger intake on and now the engine is getting to much air.
I dont have any CEL or anything, I was under the impression that you did have to do anything fuel realated for the mani swap.
Im going to change the fuel filter , but Do i need a afpr or something to get more fuel to the engine?
any help ASAP would be awsome..thanks
if your car is "chugging" then you probably have a clogged cat. Your dad was right to tell you not to drive the car, but putting a bigger intake/TB will not make your car run lean.
The ECU will take care of the AFR.....only to a certain point in which case it will throw a code. Which is also tells me that your not running lean.
