i got 2.4L sunfire with intake and cat back getting headers soon. what would be the next mod to get with good hp/tq gains i was looking into cams but i dont know where to find them for my car and if i were to get them i would need to go sumwhere i could get htem tuned correct? is there anything i should get before the cams?
LMZ and Comp make good cams. A good tune will do you some good, and research the cams as some throw codes when you install them.
if you are wanting more hp, of course boost or n2o is the way to go. but some other mods may include
motor mounts
clutch
lighter flywheel
lightweight pulleys (alt, crank)
bigger throttle body
tune (it can work wonders)

i know its header its just a habbit of typing it that way. and as for the lmz and comp cams do they have websites u can order from. and i have no idea wat throw codes are/

A good all around tuneup if its second hand is good. Dont bother dumping cash into parts that may end up on a car that wont run. Have a good 21 point inspection done, have em flush your oil, switch to royal purple synthetic, grab some new NGK plugs, hjigh flow cat, and a 60mm throttle body, or 56 if you're keeping the stock 2.4 intake manifold. And let us know when you're done.... and if you have an exhaust header, and a cat back when you get it installed you may as well make it a header-back. No point keeping a tight restrictive pipe between your high-flowing exhaust components.

yeah i am running 2 1/4'' cat back. along with intake.. header is coming very shortly. i was going to replace the cat with a test pipe but to much bs was involved with that i was debating on hollowing it out but w.e but if i were to get the cams i would have to get them tuned in order for me to gain full potential out of them?. i was looking at larger throttle bodies i would have to go with 56mm because i am keeping the 2.4l manifold. i know i would have to get the 56mm off another car which car has the size that should fit? thanks by the way u were helpful
56mm off the 2.3 quad 4,2.4 has the 52mm,secret cams also off the quad would not require tuning,another option for you.

hm thank you very much. whats the difference between the stock cams in the 2.3 compared to the 2.4L and how would these make a difference? thanks for ur help by the way.
